The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) is an internationally recognized convention in Las Vegas centered around all things tech. From car manufacturers to the latest robot invention, CES houses thousands of innovative ideas under one roof. If you’ve been throwing around the idea of going- you should go. Whether it’s to exhibit your new tech product or simply check out the competition, attending CES can only help you. Here’s why:

Networking:

For any company, networking should always be one of the top concerns. At CES, there are an abundance of important people, including CEOs of top companies and national reporters. The connections you make at CES can impact your company’s future greatly whether it’s a potential investor, customer, or even employee.

You don’t have to exhibit to make connections either. Being outgoing, having an interesting product or idea and being personable with the guy next to you at Starbucks can make a huge difference. You never know who his or her connections might be.

Be Inspired: Whether you have a booth at the show, or the idea hasn’t even made it from your head to the design table yet, CES is a great way to gain more inspiration to further improve your product or service. Looking at different booths, listening to lectures and finding products similar to your own can help you see what aspects you might be missing.

Test the Market: Bring samples to demo, create an incredible, eye-catching video and be ready to answer and ask any questions. This is the time to test a market full of your customers. Get their opinion on everything from design to functionality and be sure to ask if they would make any changes.

Even if you don’t attend CES as an exhibitor, carry a sample with you or at least have a video ready on your phone and have plenty of business cards. Don’t be afraid to go up to people at the cafeteria and casually talk to them, or even survey vacationers at the hotel. This is your opportunity to explore a greater testing market.
