Increasingly, search engines are using “social signals” from top social media sites to help determine the best links to display in search results pages. While there is a lot of speculation about exactly how social media sites are affecting search, Google and Bing have admitted they are looking closely at the authority of Twitter users and Facebook engagement, for example, to enhance their existing search algorithms.
Below is a presentation Enventys Partners’ Roy Morejon and Brandon Uttley made at the Social Fresh conference in Charlotte on May 6, 2011. In it, we discuss some of the strongest social signals and what is working now in terms of gaining “rank worthy” backlinks from social media sites.
